Position Overview
Morada Comum is now entering its third year in Brazil, making this an excellent moment to join the organisation. Strong foundations have been established, and the next phase will focus on consolidating this progress while expanding reach and influence.
The Operations Director will play a key role in this next stage by ensuring the organisation’s internal systems, processes, and operations run effectively. Working closely with the Executive Director, the role will help translate strategy into operational execution, ensuring the team, resources, and structures are in place to support Morada Comum’s mission and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with the Executive Director to define the organisation’s strategic direction and team priorities.
Monitor key performance indicators to ensure Morada Comum achieves its goals, reporting regularly to the Board and OCH together with the Executive Director.
Collaborate with the Executive Director on reporting to funders and maintaining clear and effective reporting processes.
Support the Executive Director in tracking engagement with funders, advisors, and board members.
Work with the OCH People & Culture team and the Executive Director to support staff development, strengthen organisational culture in Brazil, and define team engagement processes.
Monitor organisational development, identify risks, and prepare forecasts for growth or potential scaling down.
Oversee the organisation’s overall budget, financial planning, and financial execution.
Work with the Project Manager to ensure campaign timelines, budgets, and targets are delivered as planned.
Manage relationships with external providers, including legal, accounting, and operational services, and maintain effective communication with organisational teams, suppliers, and partners.
Identify and implement tools, technologies, and processes that improve operational efficiency.
About You
We are looking for an experienced operations leader who is comfortable working at both a strategic and practical level. You are organised, thoughtful, and able to bring structure and clarity to a growing organisation.
You will likely bring
Significant experience in operations, organisational management, or a similar leadership role.
Strong financial management skills, including experience overseeing budgets and financial planning.
Experience coordinating legal, accounting, and operational providers and ensuring organisational compliance.
The ability to monitor performance, track progress against goals, and translate strategy into operational delivery.
Experience supporting teams and contributing to a healthy organisational culture.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication and relationship-management skills, including working with senior leadership, boards, and external partners.
An interest in mission-driven work and supporting organisations working on public policy, or civic engagement.
