Overview
Salesforce is seeking a Salesforce Technical Architect Communications. The Technical Architect is responsible for successfully designing and managing the delivery of complex Salesforce solutions for our customers. You are a big-picture thinker and an in-depth problem solver, capable of designing systems that scale with the customer's growth and handle high volumes. You should have a strong mix of technical and enterprise skills for architecting long-term, scalable solutions with proven experience integrating systems via APIs and a solid development background.
As a Salesforce Technical Architect Communications, you will work on architecture, leadership, and delivery across Salesforce products, integrations, and data migrations, while aligning with platform best practices and customer needs. Travel to client sites is required, averaging approximately 50% of the time.
Key Responsibilities
* Solution Architecture: Lead technical design sessions and translate complex business requirements into well-architected solutions that leverage the Salesforce platform and its products, SFI Industries, APEX and Omnistudio.
* Technical Leadership: Guide a team of developers with end-to-end vision, best practices, and scalable solutions across Salesforce products, APIs, Lightning components, Apex/Visualforce, mobile technologies, and integration middleware/ETL.
* Release & DevOps Management: Lead technical delivery of custom development, integrations, and data migrations; contribute to DevOps strategies including CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and environment management for large-scale implementations.
* Project Collaboration: Define requirements with client stakeholders, set expectations, identify gaps, and participate in pre-sales activities such as discovery sessions and POC development.
* System Integration: Architect and manage integrations with external systems via APIs and ETL technologies; design and build large web-based systems.
* Problem-Solving: Debug and resolve complex technical issues, applying deep understanding of the project and its components.
* Salesforce Liaison: Work with Salesforce product teams to support client implementations and ensure alignment with platform best practices.
* Travel: Be prepared for travel to client sites, averaging ~50% of the time.
Qualifications
* Experience: 9+ years as a technical architect, with at least 6+ years on the Salesforce platform.
* Platform Expertise: Expert-level understanding of the Salesforce product suite (Sales, Service, Analytics, Experience Clouds); OmniStudio and SFI knowledge is a plus.
* Architectural Knowledge: Deep understanding of systems architecture, integration patterns, large data volumes, and platform authentication (SAML, SSO, OAuth).
* Development Background: Strong background in designing and developing large web-based systems and full software lifecycle.
* DevOps & Release Management: Experience with environment management, release management, code versioning, and deployment methodologies.
* Security & Data: Familiarity with platform security (TLS, SSL) and data sharing/visibility models.
* Soft Skills: Proactive, self-managed, and able to propose creative yet well-thought-out solutions.
* Certifications (3 or more):
o Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I
o Salesforce Certified App Builder
o Salesforce Certified JavaScript Developer I
o Salesforce Certified Administrator / Advanced Administrator
o Salesforce Certified Omnistudio Developer
o Salesforce Certified Application Architect
o Salesforce Certified System Architect
* English proficiency
Nice to Have
* Experience with Communications Cloud, Media Cloud, Salesforce industries.
* Active Salesforce certifications or ability to obtain relevant certifications; Application Architect or System Architect credentials are highly desirable.
