Role Overview
This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in pioneering research and development related to Digital Twin, Structural Repairs utilizing Compound within marine and offshore applications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintains awareness of technical, business, and management developments affecting clients and communicates this information promptly to senior-level managers.
* Serves as an industry representative promoting services and capabilities throughout the business community.
* Initiates, plans, and executes technology projects, providing day-to-day leadership of project teams assigned.
* Assigns tasks to team members and monitors progress of all assigned projects.
* Ensures delivery of high-quality service and maintenance of good customer relations.
* Develops suggested Rule changes and/or Rule development projects as assigned. Advises staff in matters related to application of Rules and Regulations.
* DIRECTS implementation and operation of Quality System concerning technical work in assigned jurisdiction.
* Performs selected engineering support and analyses where necessary.
* Advises managers of short- and long-term manpower needs to ensure qualified, trained technical staff are available as needed, identifying associated training needs.
* Develops or assists in development of qualification statements, proposals, and bids; makes presentations of these materials to prospective clients when necessary.
* Ensures accurate billing to clients on time.
* Ensures that all Quality System requirements about technical work within assigned technical area of responsibility are fulfilled.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
* Minimum 6 years of maritime-related industry or research experience.
* Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or other relevant disciplines; advanced degree preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
* Strong communication skills with excellent oral and written presentation abilities.
* Excellent command of the English language.
* Demonstrated ability to work well with others.
* A strong background in marine or offshore structures.
* Hands-on experience in performing structural analysis using commercial finite element analysis software.
* Ability to lead project bidding and execution, either independently or in a team setting.
* Ability to perform under pressure and deliver results in dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
* Ability to convey complex messages in simple and understandable ways both verbally and in writing.
* Essential technical writing skills and experience in preparing formal reports and papers.
* Working knowledge of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System.
