The role exists to sustain daily banking operations by taking full ownership of application support beyond incident resolution, developing a deep understanding of core business processes, and acting as a bridge between technology teams, business users, infrastructure, vendors and leadership. In a highly regulated, high-availability financial environment, this position ensures that systems remain reliable, compliant and resilient, while progressively enabling modernization initiatives without compromising operational stability or risk posture. Concretely, the role will: Ensure Operational Stability of Core Banking Systems – Safeguard the stability, availability and reliability of mission-critical banking applications by strengthening support capabilities, reducing operational risk and enabling fast, effective response to high-severity incidents. Sustain Legacy Platforms While Enabling Modernization – Operate in a hybrid environment, sustaining Mainframe / COBOL platforms while supporting controlled modernization initiatives using C#, .NET, SQL and related technologies, ensuring evolution without disrupting business continuity. Strengthen Incident Resolution and Technical Ownership – Move the organization beyond reactive support by establishing strong technical ownership, structured root-cause analysis and long-term solutions, reducing recurring incidents and increasing operational maturity. Improve Business, User and Vendor Interaction – Act as a technical bridge between business areas, infrastructure teams and third-party vendors, translating requirements into technical actions and ensuring effective vendor governance. Experience and Professional Qualifications Strong hands-on experience in systems development and troubleshooting within Mainframe / COBOL environments. Solid background in application support, incident analysis and vendor interaction in complex, regulated environments. Proven ability to lead technical topics and orchestrate stakeholders, guiding analysts and contractors with focus on operational excellence and technical depth rather than people management. Strategic mindset toward incident prevention and continuous improvement. Advanced English proficiency to interact with global stakeholders and corporate standards. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related fields. Experience with system integrations (REST APIs, Web Services, Message Queues, Kafka, JSON) is a plus. Understanding of infrastructure fundamentals and modern technologies such as .NET, C#, SQL, Oracle, Cloud, Docker, Kafka, RPA, MSMQ, MongoDB or Agile/Scrum is desirable. Exposure to banking applications or packaged banking solutions is a strong differential.
