Role SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Data Modeler / Data Architect to lead the design, governance, and evolution of our enterprise data ecosystem with a primary focus on Databricks. This role establishes data modelling and architecture standards, drives platform modernization, and partners with business and engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high‐quality data solutions. Experience with other modern data platforms is a plus.Primary ResponsibilitiesData Modeling & Semantic Layer DevelopmentDevelop and maintain subject area models, business data models, and dimensional models (fact and dimension tables) and Semantic layer design for BI and AI solutions.Define and document entities, attributes, and business definitions; resolve conflicts in terminology and meaning.Build and maintain enterprise semantic layers to support analytics, BI, and AI use cases.Support standardization of facts, dimensions, and shared business metrics.Demonstrated ability to design scalable, cost‐optimized, and reliable data architectures in cloud environments.Data Governance, Quality & MetadataEnsure strong data governance, security, lineage, and compliance across platforms.Perform data quality assessments and identify appropriate data sources in partnership with Business/Data Analysts.Maintain metadata in the enterprise repository and ensure alignment with governance standards.Assist in developing source‐to‐target mappings and validating data transformations.Enterprise Architecture & Data Platform LeadershipUnderstand data architecture across Lakehouse, Warehouse, and streaming environments.Involved in designing and implementing modern data platforms in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).Experience in designing and maintaining Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)Involved in solution design and best practices for Databricks, including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and medallion architecture.Collaboration & Technical LeadershipConduct user interviews, requirements sessions, and data analysis reviews.Provide architectural oversight and review solution designs across engineering teams.Mentor engineers and analysts to ensure consistent adoption of architectural standards.Partner with cross‐functional teams to align data solutions with business needs.Required Qualifications10+ years of experience in data modelling, and data architecture or data engineering.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related filed.Strong background in data modeling: dimensional, 3NF, and data vault.Hands on experience using data modelling tools i.e., dbt, SQLMesh, Unity Catalog, etc.Hands‐on expertise with Databricks and building and maintaining medallion architecture.Deep understanding of data governance, security, lineage, and metadata management.Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, BI, product, and business teams while influencing technical direction by developing conceptual, logical, semantic, and physical data models.Ability to lead data modelling reviews and mentor engineering teams.Understanding of Spark, SQL, Python, Kafka, Fivetran, APIs, and modern data pipeline frameworks. Knwodge of BI/Analytics/AI tools i.e., Power BI, ML Flow, Sagemaker, Etc.Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences. Ability to influence technical, business, and executive audiences.
