Responsibilities
Minimum 5 years of backend development experience, preferably within the hedge fund or financial services industry.
Strong passion for backend architecture and application development, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using .NET/C#, Python, NodeJS, Java, or Spring Boot on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
Build and optimize high-load, high-performance data-driven backend systems.
Design and implement RESTful and SOAP-based web services; libraries such as Entity Framework Core, Doctrine, or Dapper.
Develop responsive and scalable front-end applications using React, Angular, and React Native.
Implement authentication flows (OAuth2, JWT, OpenID Connect, Entra ID, Okta) and ensure security best practices.
Support event-driven architectures (pub/sub, Kafka, event-streaming) and microservices.
Write unit tests, integration tests, automated CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines, Jenkins).
Deploy and maintain applications on Azure App Service, Functions, Container Apps, AWS Lambda, or GCP Cloud Functions.
Work across cross-functional teams, collaborating with product, design, and DevOps.
Leverage AI-assisted coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve code quality.
Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
Assist in mentoring and code reviews.
Qualifications and Skills
College degree in IT Engineering or similar; BA/BS in a technical field.
3–5+ years of professional experience developing scalable backend services.
Strong experience with C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core (or equivalent).
Proficiency with Python, Node.js, Java or Spring Boot.
Experience with RESTful API design, SOAP, microservices, and SOA.
Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, DynamoDB, Firestore.
Experience with Azure or AWS or GCP, including services such as Functions, App Service, Container Apps, Service Bus, Lambda, Cloud Functions.
Knowledge of authentication/authorization standards (OAuth2, JWT, OpenID Connect, Entra ID, Okta, IAM).
Experience with DevOps pipelines (CI/CD), Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, ARM/Resource Manager, YAML.
Familiarity with front-end technologies (React, Angular, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Material UI, Vite, Webpack).
Experience with event-driven systems, messaging, Kafka, Pub/Sub, Azure Service Bus, and Azure Event Hubs.
Strong understanding of unit testing frameworks (xUnit, NUnit, Jest, Vitest).
Exposure to modern build tooling, AI development APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI).
Good people skills, teamwork, proactivity, autonomy, problem-solving, adaptability.
Experience in high-growth, agile environments.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience integrating Microsoft Dynamics CE / Dataverse, Workday, Salesforce.
Knowledge of GraphQL, TypeScript.
Experience with React Native backend patterns.
Experience in healthcare, staffing, HRIS/ATS environments.
Experience with SOC2 or HIPAA compliance standards.
Experience with Python integration, event-driven architecture, Docker containers, Cosmos DB, logging/observability.
Experience with UI/UX or design systems, PowerShell scripting, WSL (Ubuntu).
Experience with marketing technologies (CDP, Segment.io, Contentful).
Experience with subscription-based or e-commerce platforms.
