What You Will Do
As an EE&SW System Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the complete solution and system for a project or concept area. Your main tasks will include:
* Clarifying and negotiating requirements with stakeholders.
* Exploring alternative high-level electrical and electronic solutions during early project phases or to mature new technologies, balancing business needs, design and platform strategies, lead time, cost, and technical constraints.
* Developing competitive and timely system solutions, covering changes needed in application software of different ECUs, component changes, and their installation.
* Identifying and mitigating cybersecurity and functional safety risks, possibly developing specific concepts with domain experts.
* Working in an Agile environment to design and develop electrical and electronic solutions with cross-functional teams globally.
* Providing technical expertise and system knowledge to support development teams.
You need at least 5 years of experience in EE&SW embedded systems, with at least 2 years in system engineering and architecture.

* An Engineering degree in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Systems, or similar.
* Experience in electrical architectures and embedded systems from the automotive industry.
* Good knowledge of automotive standards and technologies, especially onboard communication technologies and protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), as well as challenges related to functional safety and cyber-security.
* Knowledgeable in function design and application SW in real-time systems, SW platforms (Autosar Platform, Linux, etc.), electronics (ECUs), and electrical components (sensors, actuators, etc.).
* Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
* Able to navigate through complex and global organizations, leading others to address multi-dimensional problems.
* Excellent communication and soft skills, thriving in cooperation with others.
* Familiarity with Volvo GTT EE architecture (TEA2+) is a merit.
Your Future Team
In BASC (Business development, Architecture, Services, and Connectivity), you will collaborate with other System Design Engineers to foster team development and growth.
As part of an Agile Team, you'll be immersed in a dynamic work environment, delivering complete solutions for product development and/or product changes for Volvo Transport Systems.
Your main interfaces will include Electronics, Electrical, and SW Embedded engineers from sites worldwide, such as Sweden, France, India, with daily interactions and occasional trips.
