Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to shape the technological foundation of our rapidly growing small business lending platform. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to design and implement cutting-edge financial technology solutions while working with a dynamic team focused on revolutionizing business financing. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in mobile application development and financial services technology to help us build scalable, secure, and innovative lending solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Technical Strategy
Design and evolve the comprehensive technical architecture for our lending platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
Define and maintain architectural standards, patterns, and best practices across all technology initiatives
Lead technology selection and evaluation processes for new tools, frameworks, and platforms
Create technical roadmaps aligned with business objectives and product strategy
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams
Mobile Application Architecture
Architect and oversee the development of native mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms
Design mobile solutions that deliver exceptional user experiences for loan applications and account management
Ensure seamless integration between mobile applications and backend services
Optimize mobile application performance and offline capabilities
Platform Development
Collaborate with SaaS vendors to ensure platform configurations align with architectural standards
Design and implement API strategies for internal and external integrations
Architect microservices and serverless solutions using cloud services
Develop architecture strategies for analytics, reporting, and machine learning
Implement AI and automation solutions to streamline lending processes
Security & Compliance
Define security architecture and implement defense-in-depth strategies
Ensure architectural compliance with financial industry regulations and standards
Design secure data handling and encryption strategies for sensitive financial information
Lead security reviews and threat modeling exercises
Implement monitoring and incident response architectures
Technical Leadership
Provide hands‑on technical expertise in node.js, React, Swift, Java / Kotlin development
Review code, architectures, and technical designs to ensure quality and standards
Facilitate technical discussions and decision‑making across teams
Establish development standards, coding practices, and documentation requirements
Drive continuous improvement in development processes and technical practices
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred
10-15 years of progressive experience in software architecture and development
Extensive experience in mobile application development for iOS and Android platforms
Strong expertise in Swift for iOS and Java / Kotlin for Android development
Proven experience with financial technology platforms and payment systems
Deep knowledge of cloud architecture
Experience with node.js, React, mySQL, and modern web technologies
Strong background in API design, microservices, and distributed systems
Experience with ETL processes, data pipelines, and reporting solutions
Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and financial services regulations
Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts to business stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in small business lending or commercial finance
Experience with Large Language Models / ML implementations in financial services
Knowledge of loan origination systems and credit decisioning platforms
Experience with React Native or cross‑platform mobile development frameworks
