Senior PHP Backend Engineer (Laravel / Symfony)US Hours | High-Impact Platform | Excellent CompensationWe’re partnering with a long-standing US client to hire a Senior PHP Backend Engineer to help build and scale a mission-critical enterprise platform used by real users every day.This is not a CMS or agency role.This is a backend ownership role focused on payments, workflows, reporting, and scalable services.If you’ve built and supported production PHP systems with real databases and real transactions, this role is worth your time.What You’ll Be Working OnAs a senior member of the engineering team, you’ll help design, build, and stabilize core backend services that power:Payment processing and transactional workflowsAuthentication and secure access servicesReporting and document generation systemsInternal and public-facing REST APIsBusiness process automation enginesYou’ll collaborate closely with product, DevOps, and QA teams while helping shape technical standards and improving system reliability and performance.What This Role Actually RequiresWe’re looking for engineers who have owned systems, not just tickets.You should have:5+ years of professional PHP development experienceStrong experience with Laravel or Symfony in productionDeep understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server)Experience building or supporting transactional systems (payments, billing, financial workflows, etc.)Hands-on experience with REST APIs and backend servicesComfort troubleshooting live production issuesExperience deploying or supporting applications in AWS, Azure, or GCPAbility to work US hours and collaborate with a US-based teamBig Plus (Not Required)Payment gateway integrations (Stripe, PayPal, Authorize.net, etc.)SaaS or multi-tenant platformsWorkflow engines or reporting systemsSecurity-focused backend workMentoring or code review leadershipSenior-level ownership and real technical impactExcellent compensation, benefits, and long-term growth potentialFast interview process (1–2 rounds max)Work on systems that matter—not throwaway projectsA team that values clean architecture, reliability, and executionIf you’ve owned production PHP systems and enjoy solving real backend problems at scale, let’s talk.
