Job Title: Cloud Operations Specialist
A highly skilled cloud operations specialist is required to manage and maintain our AWS infrastructure.
* Critical Skills and Qualifications:
o Proficiency in core AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53, EBS, and EFS.
o Networking Expertise: Strong understanding of AWS networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, NACLs, and routing tables, with a focus on Kubernetes clusters.
o Security: In-depth knowledge of AWS security best practices, IAM roles and policies, and securing EKS clusters.
o Automation and Scripting: Experience with scripting languages like Python or Bash for automating AWS tasks and managing infrastructure as code using CloudFormation or Terraform.
o Kubernetes Fundamentals: Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, including control plane components (API server, etcd, scheduler, controller manager) and worker node components (kubelet, kube-proxy, container runtime).
o Containerization: Expertise in Docker or other container runtimes, including image building, registry management, and container best practices.
o Workload Management: Ability to deploy, manage, and scale applications using Kubernetes objects like Pods, Deployments, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps, and Secrets.
o Networking: Understanding of Kubernetes networking concepts, including CNI plugins, Service networking, Ingress controllers, and DNS resolution within the cluster.
o Storage: Knowledge of Kubernetes storage options, including Persistent Volumes, Persistent Volume Claims, and Storage Classes, particularly with AWS storage integrations.
o Monitoring and Logging: Experience with monitoring and logging solutions for Kubernetes, such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stack, or AWS CloudWatch Container Insights.
o Troubleshooting: Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues within EKS clusters and containerized applications.
o Packaging and Delivery: Familiarity with package managers like Helm for deploying and managing Kubernetes applications, and Kustomize for configuration customization.
o CI/CD Pipelines: Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how to integrate Kubernetes deployments into automated workflows.
