Discord is hiring a Head of Public Policy for Brazil and Latin America, based in São Paulo or Brasília. This is a senior-level role reporting to the Head of Americas Public Policy. You'll be responsible for leading Discord’s engagement with policymakers, regulators, and civil society in Latin America. The goal is to build trust, shape favorable regulatory environments, and align public policy with Discord’s values and user interests.This is an international position, employed via an international PEO (Professional Employer Organization), and requires regional travel with occasional trips to the U.S.Represent Discord to government officials, regulators, and civil society in Brazil and across Latin America.Develop and execute a long-term public policy strategy aligned with both business goals and user needs.Monitor and respond to regulatory trends, especially around privacy, safety, and digital communications.Advocate for Discord’s positions on key legislative and regulatory issues, using both direct outreach and coalition-building.Support the company’s responses to government regulatory inquiries.Collaborate internally with Legal, Product, Communications, and Trust & Safety teams.Lead public policy coalitions, and manage partnerships with nonprofits and civil society.Oversee external consultants and advisors throughout Latin America.Promote internal awareness of public policy issues and involve employees in key initiatives.7+ years of senior-level experience in public policy, government relations, or related advocacy work.Strong knowledge of the Brazilian political and regulatory environment; regional expertise in markets like Mexico, Argentina, or Chile is a plus.Demonstrated success in designing and leading public policy campaigns.Deep insight into policymaking processes in Latin America.Strong alignment with Discord’s mission to create belonging and safe online spaces.Willingness and ability to travel throughout the region and occasionally to the U.S.Experience with technology policy areas such as online safety, data privacy, cybersecurity, or content moderation—especially related to gaming.Ability to communicate complex tech and legal issues in clear, compelling ways for non-technical audiences.Leadership background in a tech company or civil society organization.Proven ability to build consensus and work across diverse perspectives.Note: The subsequent job listings are unrelated to this role and appear to be placeholders or other openings.#J-18808-Ljbffr
