Manufacturing Financial Leader
We are seeking an experienced leader to oversee all accounting functions, drive financial accuracy and ensure effective cost management across production and supply chain. The ideal candidate combines technical accounting expertise with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes.
This role will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll and financial reporting. Additionally, the candidate will develop and maintain standard costing systems, variance analysis and cost accounting practices specific to manufacturing.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing and inventory management. Expertise in GAAP compliance and financial reporting is also required. Proficiency with ERP/accounting software and advanced Excel skills are necessary for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll and financial reporting.
* Develop and maintain standard costing systems, variance analysis and cost accounting practices specific to manufacturing.
* Oversee inventory accounting, cycle counts, reconciliations and reporting accuracy.
* Partner with operations and production teams to analyze efficiencies, waste and cost drivers.
* Ensure timely monthly, quarterly and annual close processes in compliance with GAAP.
* Prepare and present financial statements, budgets, forecasts and KPI dashboards to leadership.
* Implement internal controls, policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
* Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional growth and high performance.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (CPA or CMA strongly preferred).
* 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing and inventory management.
* Expertise in GAAP compliance and financial reporting.
* Proficiency with ERP/accounting software (experience with SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or similar preferred).
* Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
