Duties And Accountabilities
The AIOs and IOs lead advisory mandates, including preparation of reports, client interactions, financial modeling, drafting bidding Terms of Reference, and supervising consultants. Responsibilities include:
* Business development
* Assist the PSP Program with marketing activities and developing new client contacts and project leads
* Lead proposal preparation for new projects; prepare and negotiate client proposals and oversee internal approval processes
* Develop understanding of Brazil infrastructure sectors and provide market intelligence
* Transaction execution: manage multiple mandates with different project teams
* Oversee less experienced staff to ensure quality, client service, and staff development
* Design Terms of Reference and manage consultants; prepare requests for proposals and funding applications for consultant costs
* Lead technical, legal, regulatory, financial, and commercial assessment of advisory transactions; design project structures
* Develop complex financial models for PPP projects and supervise junior staff in modeling
* Draft and negotiate contractual and bidding documents (concession agreements, shareholder agreements, etc.)
* Lead marketing of the transaction to potential private sector investors
* Manage competitive tender processes and finalize contractual agreements between investors and client governments
* Coordinate with social, environmental, and investment colleagues to add value to projects
* Develop reports for Senior Management and perform other duties as requested
Selection Criteria
* MBA or equivalent degree in business, finance, or economics
* At least 4 to 7 years of experience in business consulting, project finance, investment banking, or infrastructure economics, with networks and credibility in Brazil
* Deep understanding of the infrastructure business and experience in different sub-sectors
* Understanding of public-private partnerships (PPPs) and structures for private participation in infrastructure services
* Strong track record of contractual and/or financial closings of infrastructure transactions
* Experience dealing with government clients, investors, and multiple stakeholders
* Experience managing diverse project teams across multiple transactions
* Strong financial, analytical, and modeling skills; ability to provide creative solutions; experience reviewing legal documents is a plus
* Proficiency in English and Portuguese; Spanish is a plus
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
* Leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities
* Willingness to travel extensively; motivated by sustainable development opportunities
